I looked at a B2C business in the utilities space. With some decent engineering there were still a lot of spreadsheets, and admin staff doing manual clean up work in conjunction with a CRM that was doing way too much outside its remit. I scored the engineering function, and identified some key issues including their erratic delivery. I built a list of tech initiatives, presented this to the CEO and the engineering team and prioritised with their buy-in. I created a plan with the lead QA to move towards a more streamlined delivery pipeline. I also wrote a strategy to disentangle the CRM from core code functionality and wrote automated tests to keep this on track, but also to demonstrate to the team how scenario based automated tests should be incorporated into future development to reduce bugs..
